Saint-Estèphe has a reputation for producing full-bodied and muscular wines on the left bank of Bordeaux. In a vintage like 2015 one would expect this wine to be just that. As a matter of fact the wine is very polished and approachable. It shows cassis and cherry fruit as well as bitter chocolate, and cedar and leather and anise over a body that is not overpowering and ripe – but not exceedingly high tannins. This is a versatile claret that will suit most palates. Drink within – say – 20 years of the vintage.
