Chateau Beychevelle St Julien 2010

2010 was an astoundingly good year in Bordeaux. Beychevelle like many other Grand Cru Classe Chateaux experienced a high quality crop for the year. Hailing from the left-bank region of St Julien, just south of the more famous First Growths of Pauillac, the estate of Beychevelle has been consistantly producing high quality Claret since the 16th century. This vintage blend is made up of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot with 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot.

The resulting wine is one of focus, concentration, depth and power with a classic left-bank profile of herbaceous aromas with hedgerow fruits, touches of spice and tobacco with a meaty edge coming from 18 months in barrique. A truly great wine that will stand the test of time. Cellar with ease until 2050 or be impatient and drink it now, either way, it is a satisfying wine!
