Glen Garioch Wine Cask Matured 1999 Limited Edition

One of the oldest operating distilleries in Scotland, and its most easterly, Glen Garioch (pronounced Geery in the ancient Doric dialect) has been making its mighty malt in the quaint and historic market town of Oldmeldrum, near Aberdeen in North East Scotland, since 1797.

This small batch release has been exclusively matured in Chateau La Grange Barriques since 1999. The result is fruity, sweet and spicy.

Tasting notes:

Rich and complex – layers of chocolate malt, autumn fruits like brambles, wild blueberries and plums, and warming oak spices, followed by nutmeg and ginger marmalade drizzled with heather honey. Sweet and spicy to the end, with chocolate, brambles and ginger
